Acceptable Use Policy

This policy applies to everything you submit to MakeASong (prompts, lyrics, titles, style descriptions and any other text) and to every song, lyric, cover image and other output generated for you, whether it stays in your library or is shared or published elsewhere. It forms part of our Terms of Service.

You may not use the Service to create or attempt to create:

1. Sexual or pornographic content: sexually explicit lyrics or songs, or content made for sexual gratification.
2. Content that endangers children: anything that sexualizes, exploits or endangers minors. This is never allowed, is removed immediately, ends the account and is reported to the authorities where required.
3. Violence and gore: content that glorifies, incites or threatens violence, terrorism, self-harm or suicide, or that gives instructions for causing harm.
4. Hate and harassment: content that attacks, demeans or threatens people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, caste, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability or serious disease, or that bullies, harasses or defames a specific person.
5. Deepfakes and impersonation: songs that imitate or clone the voice, name or identity of a real person, including artists and public figures, or that falsely present a song as performed, written or endorsed by a real person or brand. Asking for a song "in the voice of" or "sung by" a named artist is not allowed. Describing a genre, era or mood is fine.
6. Copyright and trademark infringement:submitting lyrics you do not have the right to use (for example another artist's published lyrics), recreating an existing song, or using trademarks or brand names in a way that suggests endorsement. Only submit lyrics you wrote or have permission to use.

• Spreading misinformation or deceiving listeners, including passing off AI-generated songs as recordings of a real person, or using songs for fraud, scams or political deception.
• Bulk-generating spam, or uploading songs to streaming platforms in ways that break those platforms' rules (for example artificial streaming schemes).
• Trying to bypass our safety filters, for example with misspellings, coded language or prompt tricks.
• Creating multiple accounts to collect free credits, sharing or reselling accounts, or automated or scripted access.
• Using the Service or its output to train, fine-tune or evaluate a competing AI model, or scraping the Service.
• Anything illegal where you live or where you publish the song.

• Before generation: every prompt and lyric is checked by automated safety filters (keyword lists we keep updated plus automated classification). Requests that break this policy are blocked before any credits are charged.
• After generation: the AI music models we use apply their own safety checks, and requests they reject are not charged.
• Human review: songs that are reported or flagged are reviewed by a person, who decides on the action below.

We keep records of moderation decisions so we can handle appeals and improve our filters.

If you see a MakeASong song that breaks this policy or infringes your rights, email support@makeasong.io with the song link and what is wrong. Rights holders reporting infringement should include their contact details, the work they own and a statement that the report is accurate. Reports are confidential; we do not tell the account holder who reported them.

Depending on how serious and how repeated a violation is, we may:

• warn you and ask you to remove or change content;
• remove the songs involved;
• block further requests or limit features;
• suspend or permanently close your account, forfeiting unused credits without refund;
• report content to law enforcement where the law requires it.

Content involving the sexual exploitation of children leads to immediate account closure and reporting.

If you think we made a mistake, email support@makeasong.io within 30 days of the decision and explain why. A person who did not make the original decision will review it and reply within 10 business days.
